A Note From Our Founder

The Spirit of the Octant

Dear Fellow Enthusiasts,

The name Octanis was chosen for a reason. Before the GPS and even before the sextant, the octant was the navigator’s lifeline. It used a system of mirrors to align the horizon with the stars. In that same spirit, our watch is designed to align your world.

The first collection we designed is the Sigma. When we set out to build it, we didn’t want to create another "catalog watch." We’ve all seen the same generic divers and minimalist GMTs that look great in renders but feel hollow on the wrist. We wanted to build a piece of high-precision navigation equipment. Something that felt like the 18th-century instruments it was named after, but built for the way we travel today.

Thanks to the Miyota 9075 movement, setting a local time zone while keeping track of home time is incredibly easy. Unlike "caller" GMTs, the Octanis Sigma allows you to jump the local hour hand independently as you cross borders. A feature usually locked behind a $3,000 paywall.

But we didn't stop at the movement. We obsessed over the details that matter to people who actually wear their watches:

  • The Internal Rotating Rehaut: A twin-crown system that lets you track a third time zone without the bulk of a massive external bezel.

  • The Traveler’s Kit: We hate "closet-cluttering" watch boxes. That’s why your Octanis arrives in a premium 3-watch travel roll, accompanied by a custom FKM strap for when your journey takes you off the beaten path.

We are only producing 120 units of this initial run. This isn't because we want to play the "exclusivity game," it's because at this scale, we can personally inspect and regulate every single movement to ensure it meets our standards before it leaves our hands.

The Sigma is our vision of what a modern independent watch should be: over-engineered, honestly priced, and ready for the horizon.

Thank you for being part of this first chapter.
